1. How will the EZ Pallets save me time and money?
EZ Pallets are machined to hold standard barstock sizes from ½" to 2" in increments of ¼". This allows faster setups when starting a job since there's no need to design and cut a fixture in a pallet. Even if you don't use the Pallet Retention System for the following operations, you've greatly increased productivity on the first operation alone. The EZ Pallets are very cost efficient since the Pitbull Clamps are included in the price at a discounted rate.

2. How reliable of a hold are the Mitee-Bite Pitbull Clamps?
The type of Pitbull Clamps we use are Blunt Edge Tool Steel. We use 2 different sizes. For the ½" and ¾" barstock sizes, we use a ½" wide clamp that has a clamping force of 1500 lbs. For the 1" through 2" barstock sizes, we use a ¾" wide clamp that has a 3600 lb clamping force. If you feel you need the more aggressive Knife Edge clamps, just request them with your order.

3. I have barstock that's an in-between size. Can you make a custom pallet?
Yes. We have the capability of supplying EZ Pallets for any size of stock ranging from ½" to 2". Non standard sizes require a $49 engineering charge per pallet.

4. Are all EZ Pallets in stock and ready to ship?
Here at Pierson Industries, we implement pull manufacturing techniques to keep material needs and inventory costs low. This means that once you place an order we immediately send the order to the manufacturing floor where your EZ Pallet is created. This process usually takes several hours to complete from the order being placed to the product being readied for shipment. So in essence, yes, all sizes of EZ Pallets are "in stock" and ready to ship.

5. What do I use to create a work stop?
We highly suggest drilling and tapping a hole for a socket head cap screw as a work stop. Others have suggested pressing a dowel into the pallet, however this may complicate removal or create an interference problem when you go to configure the pallet for another job with a different length of barstock. We suggest the using two different sizes of screws. The head height of a #3 socket head cap screw is .099" and should be used for EZ-Pallet sizes ½" and ¾". The head height of a #6 socket head cap screw is .138" and should be used for EZ-Pallet sizes 1" and up.
