The original Smart Vac started a revolutionary approach to vacuum chuck workholding. Not only did it NOT require a separate vacuum pump, but it also used interchangeable top plates for customized work-holding requirements. The Base provided 26" Hg of vacuum power... the same as a traditional vacuum pump.

This revolutionary product has been redesigned with larger capacity and more flexibility when connecting multiple bases. See the SmartVac II.
